Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood’s difficult afternoon apparently continued after the loss to the Gophers, as witnesses say he failed to locate several wide-open exits from Huntington Bank Stadium.
MINNEAPOLIS — Michigan quarterback Bryce Underwood remains stranded somewhere inside Huntington Bank Stadium after reportedly failing to identify any of the numerous wide-open exits that could have gotten him out of Minnesota.
Stadium employees first became concerned shortly after Michigan’s 20-14 loss when they noticed Underwood wandering through the concourse, repeatedly looking directly at illuminated EXIT signs before turning and heading somewhere else.
“He had plenty of time,” said one security guard. “We cleared everybody out. There was absolutely nobody between Bryce and the exit. I’m not sure how much more open it could have been.”
Witnesses say Underwood’s best opportunity came when he approached Exit #3, which had nobody around it for approximately 15 yards and offered a completely unobstructed path all the way out of the stadium.
Unfortunately, Underwood never saw it.
Instead, Underwood found his way to the Minnesota locker room where he was able to give them the remaining Michigan footballs that they didn't already take from him during the game.
Michigan coaches remain optimistic that Underwood will eventually find his way back to Ann Arbor during the bye week.
